It has been so long. I took a crochet vacation. But I'm back and have been working on doggy sweaters. It starting to get very chilly in Lowndes County and the doggies need to be protected from the cold. I have 3 sweaters down and more to come. They are so fun to make. I've also found a pattern to make leashes and colors using nylon. That would be really cool.
I've also have made this kerchief looking piece that you can tie up in your hair. It is a triagle with 2 strings on one site to tie off. I've really like these. It is so easy to just pull my hair out of my face when I'm working. I've made some in the school colors.

I finally finished the baby dress. Yea! Now, I’m on the hunt for a new project. I’ve debated teaching myself to knit. I’ve seen some projects in my files that I would like to make. I’ve also thought about working on one of my patterns I’ve created. Decisions, decisions. We shall see.
I’ve posted some items up for sale on Etsy. Go and check them out. Etsy is a great website that promotes only handmade items. There are many items up on that site for sale. I’ve also created a page on Facebook about my projects. Click on the link on the Facebook button on the right and become a FAN!

I’ve been trying to finish a dress and it has been a little difficult. I’ve been having trouble with getting the skirt to work out correctly. I’ve had to unravel it at least 2 – 3 times. I’ll get it working though. That is really all I have to report for the crochet side of things. I’ve been busy with day job and preparing for an extended “honeymoon”. I’m sure I’ll have time to get some crocheting in.. :O)

All my projects lately have been gifts to people. I’ve have been dabbling in thread crochet lately as well. I’ve been really enjoying it. I made a garter for a friend’s wedding, another baby blanket for my husband’s friend, and some baby clothes too. School’s finished and work has been heating up with web development so I’ve been busy with that stuff. So when I’m home I’ve been trying to decompress.
Crocheting has been taking a back seat. I’ll be a crocheting fool soon. I’m participating in the Honey Bee Festival (Hahira, GA) in October so I’m going to be building up my inventory between now and then. A couple of friends and I will be selling our crafts at the festival. I’m hoping to sell enough to pay for Christmas. Fingers crossed! One of my goals is to start posting at least once a week. So, until next week.

I’m sorry for not writing sooner. I’ve been so busy. This is the last week for my night classes. Yeah! Now I just need to study for State Boards. Once pasted, I’ll be a licensed Esthetician. So, about crochet…I’ve been creating different projects. I have created two patterns. One was inspired from the Holly Hobby pictures and the other is a gift for someone’s birthday. It is especially created for this person so I’m not going into details about it. Though on the project side, I’ve created a baby blanket, I’ve had a request for another set of Magic Symbol hats, and a cocoon for a photographer. I have dabbled in lace crochet as well as fabric edging. Both were much easier than I expected. I must say that I have been busy.

The Relay for Life is gearing up so I’m preparing to start on another Ribbon Awareness Blanket. This year I’m going to make an Ovarian Cancer blanket. It’s Teal. It will be apart of a drawing. We’re going to have a few items involved in the drawing. Other awareness blankets have been breast cancer and leukemia. It’s is a very versatile pattern. Make sure you go out and support your local Relay Team! Help Fight Against Cancer!
On another note I’m working on an Autism Awareness blanket pattern. My older son has Asperger’s which is a high functioning autism. So, this cause is very dear to me. I’ve almost got it down. I’ve been dabbling in creating my own patterns.

My mother gave me a 2009 Calendar of Crochet Patterns. Yes, 365 days of patterns...though some actually are Part 1 and Part 2. But WOW. A lot of great stuff. I cannot wait to check it all out. I'm not someone who could actually go day by day and do these. I have to go through them all and pick the most challenging or one that would be a great gift. There is this one baby blanket that would be great for a friend. Any who....Well that's it for now. "I'll be back".
