I have started some new adventures and one of them is to add sewing to my crafty side. Of course starting out small and working my up to more difficult projects. My first project is decrative garters....similar to wedding garters, prom (for the guys to wear on their sleeves), etc. I'll have pictures available soon.

I have been trying to get it together to really work on my crochet skills. I've been working on some Fisherman's hat and finishing up different projects that I've left unfinished. I have also been working on designing different items. I've come up with some animal toys, pet blankets, and pet clothes. I've been really enjoying working on designs. It is one thing to design it is another to have time to finish the project.

eBay Giving Works: some nice Ribbon based Afghans and such. I did make a witch hat for Halloween. That was really great. I was really impressed at how it turned out. I’m also thinking about attending my first craft fair to sell some of my items. The Wild Chicken Festival in Fitzgerald, GA is the one I chose. I’ve been interested in participating in something like that for awhile but just hadn’t gotten the lead out. I think would be a great New Year’s Resolution. What do you think?

Well, I mentioned the Granny Square throw/afghan that I was working on. I found it on the Red Heart website. It is called “Square Upon Square Throw” and designed by Katherine Eng. I have really enjoyed working on the design. This particular pattern allows for me to work on occasionally and to keep up with the flow. Much easier than keeping up with a ever changing pattern. I will eventually restart the project that I unraveled, but it will just have to wait.

I had to unravel one of my afghans I’ve been working on for a long time. :O( I created a pattern, it is a solid pattern, I just read it really badly. Plus the yarn I purchased did all come the same color batch so I had shade issues. SO I moved on to a granny square afghan. This is my first granny square pattern. I’m really excited because it isn’t like you create all the granny squares then you weave them together. You actually weave them together as you create the granny square. It is very interesting. I cannot wait to show pictures soon.

Well I have putting some of my crochet items up on Etsy. I've been finishing up some projects that I have put on the back burner since this past Fall. We moved over the holidays. Life has been getting in my way to crocheting. Just moving all my stuff has been incredible. I have yarn everywhere. I'm still trying to find an appropriate place for them to be. Hopefully this weekend I will be successful in my goal.

It has been so long. I took a crochet vacation. But I'm back and have been working on doggy sweaters. It starting to get very chilly in Lowndes County and the doggies need to be protected from the cold. I have 3 sweaters down and more to come. They are so fun to make. I've also found a pattern to make leashes and colors using nylon. That would be really cool.
I've also have made this kerchief looking piece that you can tie up in your hair. It is a triagle with 2 strings on one site to tie off. I've really like these. It is so easy to just pull my hair out of my face when I'm working. I've made some in the school colors.
